Cricket Association for the Blind (CABI), the sports vertical of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled fosters the game of blind cricket. Cricket plays an important role in the lives of visually impaired individuals. CABI with the support of Samarthanam works extensively to foster the cricketing dreams of visually impaired cricket players and to provide a platform to portray their unbound talent in the game of blind cricket.
Cricket Association for the Blind (CABI) USA Tour 2024
With support from the Subu Kota Foundation, the Indian Men’s Cricket Team for the Blind embarked on a transformative tour across the USA from July 25 to September 17, 2024. This landmark initiative aimed to promote blind cricket, advocate for inclusivity in sports, and inspire visually impaired communities through the power of cricket. The team conducted workshops, friendly matches, and interactive demonstrations, introducing the unique format of blind cricket to diverse audiences. The tour’s objectives included establishing Men’s and Women’s Blind Cricket Teams in the USA, advocating for blind cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Paralympic Games, and raising funds to build an allinclusive cricket stadium in India. This envisioned facility will provide visually impaired athletes with a dedicated space to train and compete, fostering accessibility and inclusivity in sports.
Throughout the tour, the team engaged with communities, corporate partners, and cricket enthusiasts, forging meaningful connections to expand blind cricket’s global reach and impact.
